Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Meet Catherine Maguire our dedicated Early Years Teacher who's role is to oversee our children's learning and development throughout the nursery and to support our team in doing so.
The Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS) is a framework that supports children from birth to the end of the reception year in Primary School. The framework encompasses Seven Areas of Learning & Development and your child will be observed throughout their time at nursery to ensure they are progressing towards the Early Learning Goals as defined by the EYFS. The ethos of EYFS is that children develop best whilst at play and we centre learning around your child’s interests.
Here at Tiggy-Winkles Day Nursery we are leading the way in Warrington by using the most up to date tracking software to record and track our children’s development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Parents/carers are allocated an individual login to the Owl Track system allowing access to your child’s online profile. You no longer need to come into nursery and look through a file or wait for your child’s overview to view the very latest information we hold, you can do this at your leisure from home or anywhere!
The EYFS places a strong emphasis on working with parents as partners, Owl Track has been designed with this in mind and helps parents and practitioners to reflect together in both on-going dialogue and in your child’s individual planning and observations. Parents are freely able to add observations and photographs at their leisure, just as their child’s Key Worker does whilst at nursery, allowing us to build a comprehensive picture of your child’s overall development both at home and nursery. We strongly encourage all our parents to participate as much as possible as well as to view their child’s online profile regularly.
For further information on the EYFS please find below our parent's guide, alternatively please feel free to ask Catherine or any member of staff.
